Well it’d be a novel if I typed every awful encounter I’ve had while living in Linden Place apartments through Middletown property group. I’ll start from oldest to newest issues (because it’s something new and terrible going on every other fucking week it seems.) but basically, upon moving in I took tons of photos and made multiple maintenance requests for things I noticed were not how they should be. For example, the screen to the patio door isn’t even connected to said door. I moved in at the end of June and we had to pay $300 dollars to move in 3 days early yet an entire month of rent adds up to a little over 1k (even though rent was advertised as 895).
After we got settled in, mind you it’s boiling hot summertime, we go to turn the ac on and the entire unit doesn’t work and there’s random wires hanging out of the wall by the breaker box. Every single day I called up to the office and would be put on hold for 20+ minutes so I went up there to beg them to fix the ac because it should’ve worked before we even got there & they didn’t give a single fuck. It was the same “we’re doing what we can” every single day. I was so respectful each time even though I was actually going insane sweating my ass off in a 85-90 degree apartment for 2 months straight. I was at my breaking point and didn’t even want to bother going back up to the office because it’s the same idiots every time who don’t give a shit about anything but their paycheck and would keep telling me the guy who owns everything is supposed to order a $1k part for our ac and they are waiting for him to buy it or whatever the fuck. My boyfriend decided to go for me and cussed out the people in the office and threatened to take legal action and our ac got fixed the very next day. 😐
It looks like the hulk himself kicked our dishwasher so far back under the counter & obviously unusable with a huge gaping hole underneath it. The entire inside of our medicine cabinet is streaked with rust all over and when confronting a worker at the office about it they told me it wouldn’t be anything maintenance would do about it as long as it’s not mold. Speaking of mold they ended up painting over the mold in the closet next to my bathroom after weeks of me begging them to do something. There are holes in walls that still haven’t been fixed. One random day after losing my mind about 20 different fuck ups in the apartment I decided to make another maintenance request & days later unannounced, a maintenance worker who I never even got the chance to see decided to let himself in while I’m butt ass naked and asleep all to go inside my spare room and put knobs on the closet door & change the bathroom doorknob when those parts of the request were the LEAST important things on the list.
They charge out the ass for garage parking yet the garage under my unit quite literally has busted toilet pipes with shit and piss water pouring into the garage. On our end there’s shit and piss coming out of my toilet and bathtub and Middletown doesn’t have their own plumbers so we waited for them to find one from another company to fix it but they took so long that we had to use my biggest pot(which I paid a lot of money for smh) to stop all the poop and pee from flooding into my hallway and living room. Not even an entire week ago the same bullshit happened again but I had previously thrown the poop pot away and had to sacrifice multiple bath towels of mine just to stop it from leaving the bathroom. This time is worse though because I had to go over 3 days with no running water anywhere in the unit while still having to continue doing my everyday things such a go to work.
They are so money hungry and will find any way to charge a fee. The dumpster is clear on the other side of where my unit is and it’s already a hassle to take it out in the first place but after they started dropping the dumpster off facing the wrong direction tenants would just throw their trash next to the dumpster because you quite literally have to step over a 3 foot tall wall to get to the other side. So because of that Middletown decides to send out a message saying that they’ll send out a property wide fine if they keep throwing their trash near the dumpster which has not a damn thing to do with me. They would charge a breathing fee if they could I swear. This is already becoming so long and I’m not even half way done but this would go on forever if I could type every awful thing I’ve had to put up with living here. Moral of the story NEVER rent from Middletown property group they are absolutely fucking garbage in every aspect of the word and if you’re unfortunately stuck like how I am make sure you document EVERYTHING so they don’t try and withhold your security deposit.
