I’m glad to see people standing up!

I left an extremely toxic marriage and moved out on my own with my son. At the time, I was just moving back to Muncie and my funds were limited. They initially charged me a “double security deposit” due to my credit, which I paid even though I didn’t have the extra funds… I made it work. Over the last year I have submitted numerous maintenance tickets for various reasons. Most were taken care of after I nagged, but the fact the washer in the basement that they provide ruined an entire load of y clothes due to it not draining all the water out. The basement floods with any amount of rain. There are cock roaches and other bugs and pests I have them on camera entering my apartment without notice, even bringing random people into the apartment while I was asleep. I paid close to $800 for a 430sq ft 1 bedroom apartment with baseboard heaters and NO THERMOSTAT TO CONTROL THEM. The breaker box is from the 1920’s and there are 4 outlets in the living room. If you have a microwave plugged in, hopefully ypu dont have a light on or you’re popping a fuse. They have 1 eindow unit air conditioner in the bedroom, so the rest of the apartment is hotter than Hades while the bedroom is Antarctica. Their leasing team has harassed me repeatedly and have been trying to “show prospective tenants” the apartment for at least 6 months before my lease was ending.
