March I had to be out of where I was at, got a motel until I could get first months rent and security deposit up for a place. Looked at a few apartments and one from Middletown properties. Place seemed nice enough and better than a motel. I get paid bi-weekly so the end of March I made half the security deposit in order to move in April 10th because I got paid the night of the 9th. April ninth comes I make the remaining payment and wait hours for my codes, no keys. Then I’m told I have to pay another 15$ (not counting the 10$ service fee so another 25 all together on top of everything I had just paid). Pay it and wait HOURS more, even though I was told I could have codes before 11 am when I had to be out of the motel.
Within a week I noticed water damage in just about all the walls. My sister leaned on a wall to put her shoes on and her whole arm went right through the wall, it was literally painted mesh tape and nothing more. A week after that the light switch that was now hanging from the wall was sparkling and smoking and I had NO access to emergency breaker box and maintenance line never called back from my multiple voicemails. A week after that I was at work and got my messages over and over from the KIDS who were home that the ceiling had caved in above where the light switch/hole had been. MULTIPLE phones calls to emergency maintenance and nothing, however 3 days later they called me in regards to 300$ I had owed for rent that month. I informed them I could not continue my lease and I was vacating myself and my belongings from the property to which I FINALLY got a response about maintenance and them telling me my rent is not prorated for maintenance issues. I informed them I was leaving, and I did on May 19th. They still text and call me asking if I have vacated the premises to which I don’t have the time to respond to like they didn’t have the time to respond to my maintenance requests.
