We rent through Middletown Properties and have since we moved here in March (we had to move from the place we’d lived in for 6 years, so there wasn’t a “you shouldn’t have rented from them” moment because we were about to be homeless if we didn’t move, and no one else had availability.
Every month, it’s something from them. This month, they changed our 12 month lease with 30 days prior notice and want us to provide our own electric despite our lease stating we pay utilities via them. I know what Indiana law states about fixed term leases. Do I need to contact legal aid? We’re disabled. These constant changes are stressful, and not abiding by Indiana law now is even more stressful. I know that everyone is having issues right now, especially renters. Does anyone have any experience with them and can offer some guidance, please? Real guidance, not snarky trolling.
(My apologies. I am autistic. This company is really starting to make me panic. I just want to pay what we agreed to and live as stress free as possible.)
